Design Style for Replacement Windows Chicago

Although there are several types of design options for replacement windows in Chicago, you’ll have to first define what’s most important for you. Here are a few things homeowners consider when replacing their windows; quality and/or durability, aesthetic/attractiveness, energy efficiency, safety, glass specs, functionality, ease of maintenance. There are many different types of styles so we’ll only discuss the more common ones.

When it comes to moving up and down, you have generally have two options: single-hung and double-hung. In a single-hung window, only the bottom sash is operable, and it moves up and down. In a double-hung window, both sashes are operable, the top and the bottom. This makes it a lot easier to clean and many of our clients prefer double-hung over single. A casement window is another style. This style of window opens and closes with the turn of a handle. An awning window is another type of window. This window glides open and shut with the turn of a handle with hinges at the top, and usually opens outward. Lastly, there are sliding windows. Usually, one sash is fixed, and the other is operable, which allows it open and shut horizontally.
